Service provider
Modefold is a travel information and ticketing service, available at modefold.com and as an app for iOS and Android. The provider within the meaning of § 5 DDG (formerly § 5 TMG) is:

First and last name of the individual operating Modefold (or the company name, if a company is formed). Mandatory under § 5(1) no. 1 DDG.

Serviceable postal address
Street, house number, postcode, town and country. A P.O. box or an email address alone does not satisfy § 5(1) no. 1 DDG. If the operator does not want to publish a home address, a serviceable alternative is needed (for example an imprint service authorised to accept service of process) — that is an operator decision.

Telephone number
§ 5(1) no. 2 DDG requires details enabling rapid electronic contact and direct communication. The email address is mandatory; German case law treats a telephone number as the safest way to satisfy the "direct communication" limb. Alternatives (a call-back form, a chat with a guaranteed response time) are possible but need legal assessment.
VAT

Required by § 5(1) no. 6 DDG where one exists. If the small-business rule under § 19 UStG is used there is no VAT id; instead invoices and receipts must carry a reference to § 19 UStG, because they may not show VAT.

The following details are only to be given where they apply. A sole trader with no commercial-register entry and no licensable activity omits this section.

Only where the activity requires official authorisation. Whether selling transport tickets in one's own name triggers anything here needs legal advice, as does whether handling payments through a payment service provider stays licence-free.

§ 18(2) MStV requires a named responsible person as soon as journalistic or editorial content is offered. Modefold currently shows only timetable, forecast and product information, no editorial writing.

Consumer dispute resolution
The European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform was shut down on 20 July 2025. The formerly customary link to ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr therefore no longer belongs in a legal notice and should not be copied across from older templates.

The operator must decide and state here whether they are willing or obliged to take part in dispute resolution before a consumer arbitration board. Anyone running a website who employed more than ten people as at 31 December of the previous year must make this statement; below that threshold it is voluntary but commonly included. If participation is declined, that must be said expressly.
